itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>Linda Webber was born and raised in Guanajuato, Mexico, and is of Chichimeca-Jonaz and Guachichile-Guamare descent. She is working toward a dual degree in Spanish Language and Culture and Biomedical Science.<\/p>\n<p>Linda is a proud Mexican immigrant from Silao Guanajuato, Mexico, and is the first Native Honors Scholar of indigenous Mexican descent. She was born and raised in Silao and was taught her family\u2019s native language of Nahuatl along with Spanish growing up. As a current Spanish Language and Culture\/Biomedical Science major, Linda\u2019s ultimate goal is to become a Physician Associate who specializes in bilingual emergency rural health, so that one day she can go back to Guanajuato, Mexico and work as a primary care\/emergency physician, as well as an educator of public health and hygiene. Linda was able to travel with the Honors College and Rotary Club of Ashland to visit rural communities in Guanajuato where the Rotary Clubs of Ashland and Guanajuato had completed water projects. Linda was able to participate in this trip with her translation skills and also being a person who those living in these villages recognized as someone who was from similar indigenous communities from the area.
